Registrations are now open! The Boleke Mmampatile event is an urban adventure race with an epic twist and mix of various traditional games as we as athletic pro-sports built into it.
The event features Eighty (80) teams of two chasing each other all over Gaborone in a modified “hide and seek“ game with elements of the childhood game “touch”, also known as “tag“ in Europe and the Americas.
Starting and finishing in the city centre main mall area; Teams will within a six-hour window run through a combination of 21 checkpoints hidden and spread throughout the city. At each checkpoint, teams will solve puzzles, take questions, under-take tasks, navigate obstacles, collect clues and points to pass race levels (checkpoints) onto the next.
Race participants are divided into two groups of twenty (20) teams each we refer to as the seeker group and the runner group. Each team comprises of two individuals with a pre-existing relationship; example- husband and wife, boyfriend girlfriend, parent-child, cousins, employer employee, colleagues etc. Enemies are also welcome to join if they can make it.
To qualify for entry into the game, you must be at least 13 Years old. All players below the age of 18 must upon registration provide a signed parental consent form available for download here. Registration into the event is free, and you may register at the form provided below:
This event has been conceptualised ground-up as a sports tourism project for the intent of contributing to the nations efforts of diversifying the economy as well as developing local sport, through driving investments towards it.
